In other words we're building collective economic power to create a Raleigh "for all".
If you've seen enough and are ready to build, click here to be 3 c with me.
It's another amazing day in paradise. I'm so grateful you're continuing to choose to invest your time with me. Welcome to the numbers!. This is what is needed to fill the prescriptions to a better city. Here's what I'm imagining:
What could we accomplish in one year?
This is an initiative where residents are invited to participate in building a multi-million dollar community fund.
These are ideas showcasing how the money can be invested.
~ Hire more firefighters (2-3 academies)
~ Fund separation allowance for firefighters
~ Reduce recidivism
~ Buy back properties that weren't going to be used how we'd like (like the Data Center)
~ Invest in properties to build what the community needs (like 3rd spaces and skate parks)
~ Create membership based platform for third spaces and community centers that's affordable and accessible to all (L.U.V. L.I.F.E. Cooperative)
~ Build sidewalks to parks and schools
~ Eliminate homelessness (Raleigh CARES, Wake@Home, The Coalition for Compassionate Housing)
~ Preserve generational wealth (The Coalition for Compassionate Housing)
~ Uplift individuals, couples and families as they transition through expected and unexpected challenges (The Coalition for Compassionate Housing)
~ Protect our natural resources and infrastructure because we ARE nature

Need Compassion? Be 3 C With Me Here.
These are great questions that deserve great answers. This is not "the fine print". I'm making this large enough for people to see because you deserve to know.
I, Kara Lynn Sanders AKA Kai AKA Momma Kai, am fully responsible for the initial collection of the funds. When you contribute to the fundraiser, I am under the belief that you are trusting me to add your money to a community account. And since I call it a community account, I can't be the only one responsible for it.
Since I'm building this plane as I'm flying it, what has come to my mind and spirit for month one of collecting funds is the following:
1. I'm launching alone and am solely responsible for the use of the first $20K that comes in. Some of the funds will be used to establish the infrastructure for what we will do. It could be used for, among other things, paying registration fees, hiring independent contractor for various tasks or creating legal documents.
2. After each $20,000 has been generated, I will invite one person to participate in The G.E.T.T.M.A.D. Crew, the name of the voluntary leadership circle for this project. At $200K that will be 10 people, the first 5 will be people I personally know and trust. The next 5 will be people who expressed interest, chosen by the 6 founding crew members.
After the first $200K, then a new crew member will be recruited after every $2M is collected. That makes a total of 20 plus me, equals 21 members of The G.E.T.T.M.A.D. Crew. The last 10 crew members will be voted on by the community.
Please Note: This means the full crew will not be established immediately. It will take time. The initial crew making decisions for month 1 will consist of 5 individuals that I know, respect and trust as well as myself. Until we have had discussions about what kind of information should be disclosed, the names of the individuals will remain private. I will take full responsibility for reporting any decisions that are made and/or money invested without community input.
A Note About G.E.T.T.M.A.D: Yes, it does essentially say "get mad". It's based on a quote by Malcolm X who said, "Usually when people are sad they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry they bring about change." This quote means a lot to me because when I can regulate my nervous system, I recognize anger as a messenger and I can redirect the energy from the emotion to implement prescriptions in the community. As an acronym, G.E.T.T.M.A.D stands for "gathering elect talent to make a difference". I imagine elect talent possessing a high level of emotional intelligence, which is a prerequisite for this crew.
3. For complete transparency, there will be things determined internally without community input and there will be others items that will require community input. Some of the differences are noted here. This is not an exhaustive list:
a.1. At the 20% Breakdown Level which solely benefits non-profits: 5% monthly will go towards funding The Coalition for Compassionate Housing which will offer multiple services all based in providing compassionate housing and upward mobility services for those in need of transitioning careers or lifestyles.
a.2. 15% will go towards non-profits the community votes to fund based on their recommendations. These are unrestricted funds based on the needs of the organization that will sustain them for 18-24 months. Eligibility resumes 60 days before the anticipated end of their current grant cycle.
b.1. At 30% - People, Properties and Profits: 3rd space locations and designs are community choice.
b.2. Some businesses we invest in for profit will be community choice while others will be determined internally. The difference will be determined internally and divulged externally.
b.3. People we uplift and residential properties we invest in are determined internally for security reasons.
c. A quarterly report will be provided with data on how many funds were collected and how they were invested, both specifically and generally. Please note: I tend to use invest synonymous with spend because I choose to believe that every time I spend money there is a return of some sort. It also trains my mind to be more responsible with how I'm investing my time, my energy and my funds.
